John attended Ridley High School and went on to graduate from Widener University, equipped with knowledge and skills to excel in his career.

Outside of his professional life, John was actively involved in the community, serving on a multitude of boards and committees: elected President of the Mid County Baseball League, board member of Newtown Edgmont Little League and in that time establishing the Newtown Edgmont Little League Flanigan Indoor Training Center. John also founded the Marple/Newtown Basketball Association in 2001, promoting the love of basketball among the youth. John's dedication to education extends beyond sports, as a Marple Newtown School Board Director from 2009 to 2013. Additionally, John currently holds a position as a board member of MN Recreation and Kids Stop, ensuring the community has access to recreational activities. Not only involved in local organizations, he also took on the role of Vacancy Chair in Newtown Township, Delaware County.
